What is Argentium sterling silver?
Most of the sterling that I use is called Argentium sterling. This new formulation of sterling is:
- Substantially more tarnish-resistant
- Brighter in color
- More hypoallergenic
- Made completely from recycle scrap
Please watch this short video to learn more………………
It is not in the video, but the metal they add is called germanium: a very bright metal with hypoallergenic properties. They use only a tiny fraction, but it is enough to change the quality of the metal. Germanium is an element like gold and silver and can be found on the periodic table.

What is 14 Karat Gold-Filled Wire?
Gold-Filled wire is created using a thick coating of 14k gold bonded by heat and pressure around a core of brass. Gold filled is much thicker than gold-plated or vermeil, more durable and looks more “solid”.
Note about GF Rings: Rings worn frequently will work harden and wear. It takes many years to notice this and 14K gold-filled is no exception. Over the course of years, you may wear through the 14K gold layer, revealing the brass on the inside. This is the reality of using gold-filled on rings…and I am good with it….because you just cannot beat the price when compared to solid gold.
Do you take special orders?
I do not take special orders at this time.
However, I will make adjustments to my work to suit your tastes regarding surface (high shine or, oxidized), swap stones, adjust size and length etc.
How can I visit your crafts booth in person?
I sell most Saturdays (and some Sundays) at the Lithia Artisans Market in Ashland Oregon. This city is located in Southern Oregon close to the California border on Interstate 5.
If you are coming to town and want to visit, please contact me by email and I can tell you my next market date. I usually post it on my facebook page, so please “like” me if you want to keep in touch.
I do several out of town events per year….please check my Events page for details.
Why is the URL of your personal website called www.flux33.com?
Against all popular advice, I decided not to use my full name in the URL. What happens is that on my gift cards my name would end up being printed 3 times (with the email and website). Even though the Gonnella’s are an epic wonderful family, having my name all over the place is weird for me.
And….I really like the word, “flux” because it refers to substances used in both jewelry making and pottery (I am also a potter). We use fluxes to lower melting points and make things flow.
The 33 is my old employee number and nickname from when I was a bike messenger in Portland Oregon. I still answer to this nickname and the more formal, “Unit 33”. If you shout 33 in a crowd, me and Larry Bird will turn around.
Where can I purchase your pottery?
I make a small amount of pottery at Christmas time and sell it at local shows in Ashland Oregon. Please check my Events page, I will list pottery under the event if I am going to bring some.
I do keep a small amount of stock at the Ashland Artisans Emporium, booth #283. Just ask for Holly’s pottery booth.
